i have question regarding timber fender for river berthing dolphins. Based on your experience, how many percent of the berthing energy can be absorbed by the fender?

RE: timber fender

Way too many variables to answer without further information.

Ron: Basically I want to determine the berthing force transmitted to the dolphin for the berthing energy of 120 kN-m.
I have checked using several rubber fenders and the resulting
berthing force is about 400 kN. What happen if I use timber fender, how much is approx. the berthing force transmitted to the dolphin?
