twisted blend

(OP)
I'm trying to create a blend for a piece of bar stock. An inch from either side it is twisted at a 45 degree angle. I've created planes offset from eachother at the positions where the twist should occur with the profile of the bar but when I try and blend..the product is not coming out with the simple 45 degree twist I hoped for. Any suggestions?

RE: twisted blend

Make sure you have the start points of the sections in the correct places.  It is easy to get a twist in a blend when you don't want one so it is also possible to get the wrong amount of twist if the start points are wrong.
