All surfaces within a 3D drawings are plotting

All surfaces within a 3D drawings are plotting

All surfaces within a 3D drawings are plotting

(OP)
This is my first attempt at creating a 3D drawing.  When I go to plot a drawing out, all surfaces within the drawing are plotted.  I've used the "Hide" command so that the background surfaces are hidden on the screen.  But when I go to plot, all surfaces are printed on paper.

I've been fighting with this issue for a few days now.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

RE: All surfaces within a 3D drawings are plotting

Not completely sure what you mean by "all surfaces are printed", but here is my answer based on what I think you are asking.

Set the DISPSILH system variable to 1, and then try printing again. Also, print from a paper space layout and be sure to set the viewport's shade plot setting to hidden.

RE: All surfaces within a 3D drawings are plotting

Are you using Civil 3D or regular AutoCAD?

For ACad 2006 at least... In the Print window, click on the arrow in the bottom right for "More Options" if it isn't already visible. In the second section, "Shaded Viewport Options", make sure "Shade plot:" selection is "Hidden" or however you want it.
