How to perform FEA on welded assemblies

(OP)
To all of our faithful Nx Forum readers.

We are using NX6.0.2.8 with the Advanced Simulation application. Our solver is NxNastran 6.1.

We are looking for a best practice on how to mesh a weldment to find the stress and fatigue on welds. I would like find out how other users are analyzing welds.

Thanks in advance.

RE: How to perform FEA on welded assemblies

You may also want to search the FEA forum forum727: Finite Element Analysis engineering, and/or post your question there. I'm sure there have been discussions about analyzing welded structures.
