Shuttle Conveyor

Shuttle Conveyor

Shuttle Conveyor

(OP)
Currently have a shuttle conveyor and chute to load concentrate into rail cars.  The chute dumps the concentrate into the middle of the cars, creating a peak down the middle.  Obviously this needs to be sorted out.  Anyone have a good resource for this type of re-design or any helpful suggestions???
Thanks!

RE: Shuttle Conveyor

Get shorter rail cars.

RE: Shuttle Conveyor

Move/position the cars to spread the dumping point
Move/position the chute to spread the dumping point
Fit a two-way (or oscillating) deflector at the end of the chute
Fit a mechanical spreader at the end of the chute
Vibrate the cars to level the load
Employ manual labourers to spread the load

RE: Shuttle Conveyor

Hi KEnglish,

for an example, check http://www.schenckprocess.com/en/produkte/anwendungen/train-loading-systems.html and similar
(disclaimer: I'm in no link with this company).
Loading railcars is, in my exp., today a 'hightech' undertaking, as schedules are tight and overall tech specs have got to high levels. Also, railways tend to be tough with demands towards treating their equipment.

Roland
