Heat input in wedling pipelines

Heat input in wedling pipelines

Heat input in wedling pipelines

(OP)
Anyone knows what shell be the maximum heat input that can be produced in welding fittings to pipelines under pressure (natural gas flowing in the pipeline)? I have the Welding procedure records for those welding productions, where I can calculate the heat inputs based on the I, V and welding speed, but those aren´t the values for wich we shell base on because the conditions during welding are different from those that there were in the qualification.

RE: Heat input in wedling pipelines

tfdavid,

You say the operating conditions of the pipeline are different than the values in the welding procedure? In what regards? (flow rate, carbon equivalency, wall thickness etc.)

RE: Heat input in wedling pipelines

for in service repair, i believe somewhere in API 1104 annex B there is some statement about you must develope a wps with simulate working conditions of the pipeline.
