Is there a parameter that has to be activated to get the ordinate dimensions in the parent to show in the detail view?

Reference the What's New PDF page 81.

RE: Ordinate dimensions in detail views

First, you can't have the same ordinate dimension in both the standard view and detail view (you get one or the other).

You will need to delete the dimensions from the standard view that you want shown in the detail.

Then, Right-click on any of the ordinate dimensions in the standard view, select 'Add ordinate', click the point/line in the detail view that you want dimensioned.
It should add the dimension in the detail view, while still relative to the origin in the standard view.

Hope this helps.
