ASME section 1 boiler low level cut offs

ASME section 1 boiler low level cut offs

(OP)
ok I'm missing my ASME section 1. I'm currently moving books are in storage.  Can someone tell me what it says about proving boiler low water cut-offs.  Is it everyday or every shift.  my guys don't want to test them on nightshifts due to lack of I&E support should there be any issue

thanx

RE: ASME section 1 boiler low level cut offs

This is a Jurisdictional matter that regulates boilers not ASME Code, Section I.

RE: ASME section 1 boiler low level cut offs

Check with your boiler inspector (insurance or jurisdictional) that inspects your boiler for it's operating certificate.

TN requires a high pressure boiler to be "checked" every :20 min., but that does not mean you have to blow-down the low-water fuel cutoff device each time.

You can also check CSD-1; Controls and Safety Devices for Automatically Fired Boilers for the ASME recommendation.  Look in Appendix D.  Many Jurisdictions use this as a guide.
