Connector Builder

Connector Builder

Connector Builder

(OP)
I am trying to represent muscles in abaqus CAE using connector builder. I want the muscle to effectively behave like springs with the muscle being unable to carry bending and can extend along its line. Do i need to just define an axial connector element in the translation drop down box. Do i then just need to define a stiffness, D, for that direction?

thanks

Callum

RE: Connector Builder

In the CAE manual 34 Springs and Dashpots.  If that does not help or you have already looked there please provide more details as to what is causing trouble.

RE: Connector Builder

Yes, you'll need to define/assign Connector Properties for the DOF of the axial connector you defined. (this seems like a long winded approach for a single axial connector, but it becomes very useful indeed for more complex use cases...)
