Tapered HSS Members

(OP)
Does anyone have experience with design using tapered HSS?  If so, what manufacturer makes these members.

RE: Tapered HSS Members

I used them once.  We just sized it so that the member could be cut longitudinally on an angle, then one side flipped and welded back together to get a tapered member.  Designed this way, any fabricator can do it.

RE: Tapered HSS Members

Most any fabricator can take flat plate and fold it into a tapered tubular shape.  The fabricators that make steel poles for the transportation industry and the electric utility industry do this all day long.
