Corrosion comparison Gas-liquid

(OP)
I would like to know the difference in corrosivity e.q. what is more corrosive. Gas or liquid H2SO4 of high percentage (between 94 and 98 %) and operating at 50 degree celcius with a maximum of 140 degree celcius.

I would like to use this information to place a sample of some metal in the tank to calculate the corrosion rate.

RE: Corrosion comparison Gas-liquid

Depends on the metal.

RE: Corrosion comparison Gas-liquid

It doesn't depend on the metal, it depends on the presence of liquid as strider6 said.  I can't set up a viable galvanic cell without an electrolyte and gas is not an electrolyte.
