Transmission Towers

(OP)
For Transmission Lines, Which is preferred- lattice Tower or monopole Tower ?

RE: Transmission Towers

Lattice tower is usually more economical.  Most people think monopole looks better.

RE: Transmission Towers

My limited experience indicates monopoles can be cost effective at lower voltages in areas with high wage rates or along congested corridors. Lattice structures require more labor for assembly and usually need a larger footprint.
If the project could get reasonably priced labor and there were no space or "beauty" restrictions, I would use lattice.

Which is better?  It depends on the design criteria.
