Adding a sweep to the feature library

Adding a sweep to the feature library

(OP)
Hi,

I've been trying to add a sweep to the feature library.
Ideally I'd be able to add it to any ellipse square circle or similar that is 25mm thick (table thickness)

The method I've been trying is to add a plane, draw the profile on this. Then select top face and convert entities for the path. My thinking being that I could just select the face when adding it to new parts.

I haven't had much luck at all. It generally asks for lots of lines that don't show up in the preview box.

Is adding a sweep to the feature library even possible if not can you think of another way to add a moulding detail around a path. Extrusion or cut extrusion isn't really effective enough for what I'm looking for.

Thanks

RE: Adding a sweep to the feature library

You can add a sweep to the library, but you have to be careful about your references within your sketches.  In general you want to avoid silhouette edges, and try to dimension as much as you can to the coordinate planes or the origin.  It makes for messy sketches, but you'll see why when you are asked for references in the new part.

Hi,

I get that you have to have as few external relations as possible but it's more I ca;t understand how to define the path
