Different Grade of Stress Analysis

Different Grade of Stress Analysis

Different Grade of Stress Analysis

(OP)
Recently I recieve a detail of work for a bid; but I can not understand this:

STRESS ANALYSIS FOR GRADE "SC"
STRESS ANALYSIS FOR GRADE "C"
STRESS ANALYSIS GRADE "M"
STRESS ANALYSIS GRADE "I"

Somebody here knows about that? and what include this kind of Stress Analysis?

Regards,

Luis F. Cadena

RE: Different Grade of Stress Analysis

It would probably help if you put this question into context...

Hi,

Thanks for your help.  This project is about broadening a refinery, replacement of old equipment, implement new systems, connect new equipment through tie-in points.  Do you need more information? let me know as soon as possible; again thanks for your help.

Regards,

Luis F. Cadena

RE: Different Grade of Stress Analysis

So which Code/Standard are we talking about?

(right now, more information is probably better, and specific information is better than general information - the more you make this like pulling teeth, the less likely you are to get someone interested enough in your problem to provide you with an answer...)

Did you ask the same question?

No, I publish a document tath shows the list of documents of a Refinery Engineering.

RE: Different Grade of Stress Analysis

Probably because someone thought that you posted proprietary documents (it could even have been the "owner" of the document that saw that you posted this on a public forum).

Why don't you just ask the individual/company that gave you the requirement - it could be specific to a project.  These terms are not specific to ASME B31.3.

RE: Different Grade of Stress Analysis

I'd be curious to know what answer the OP got from his bidder.  Certainly, those letter designations are not any kind of code standard.  But, if I had to guess:

I - Inspection
M - Manual Calculation
C - Computer Analysis
SC - Dunno, maybe Computer Analysis + Supplemental (i.e. NEMA SM-23, API-610, other FEA invlolved)
