Simulating a Weld

Simulating a Weld

Simulating a Weld

(OP)
I have two aluminum plates that are the same dimensions which are laid directly on top of each other. I am trying to figure out a way to simulate a weld around the edges of the plates. I need to take the nodes located on the edges that are in connect between the plates and tie them together. I have looked into using point-based fasteners but it seems they only simulate spot welds not continuous welds. I think connectors might be able to connect the faces the way I want but I do not know how to make that happen. Just looking for some insights.

Thanks

RE: Simulating a Weld

Use a tied constraint on the 2 edges.  Hide one of the plates and select the master edges then show only the hidden one to select the slave edges.  I hope this helps.
