Are Hastelloy C-2000 pipes available in sizes greater than NPS 8"?  My Haynes catalog only shows up to 8".  Any suggestions for suppliers?

RE: Hastelloy C-2000 Pipe

If you don't find the required size I would give Mach a call about making  it. We've had several different pipe sections made due to availability or a time line problem.  Mach was good to work with.

RE: Hastelloy C-2000 Pipe

Dunno if it has changed in the last few years, but the only place we were able to obtain ANY C-2000 the last time we used it (about 7 years ago) was directly from Haynes.  That was NOT FUN...

Are you looking for a piece, a length, or a mill-run?

Thanks for the replies guys.

moltenmetal,
A couple of lengths ranging from NPS 3" to 12".

Well, if Haynes can't supply a certain pipe size, it would then have to be fabricated from plate.

RE: Hastelloy C-2000 Pipe

...plate which you would also need to buy from Haynes...

If Haynes doesn't have it on hand as pipe, you're talking about at least 12+ weeks.

Not a widely used alloy- nobody stocks it except Haynes to my knowledge- and they didn't stock MUCH...

If you want to take a mill run of a particular size, you're waiting anyway and the choice of material is less of a concern.

RE: Hastelloy C-2000 Pipe

Have you considered C-276 as a substitute ?

Due to the market in Wet Flue gas Desulfurization in power plant retrofits.....there is probably much more C-276 available.

MJCronin,

Hastelloy C-2000 had been substituted with Alloy 59 (UNS N06059) by our metallurgist.
