F928 Mesh

F928 Mesh

F928 Mesh

(OP)
Greetings all,

Anybody know the cross sectional area/m width for a F928 mesh? This would be for both the longitudinal and cross bars.

Many Thanks

RE: F928 Mesh

nineninenine,
I take it that you know the F designation is not in use anymore.  But if you are talking about the old 450 MPa fabric designations, F928 has 9 mm wires at 200 centres in one direction (318 mm^2/m) and 8 mm wires at 250 centres in the other direction (201 mm^2/m).

Thanks Hokie,

Its for a refurb dating back to 1992 so I'm aware that the mesh is no longer used.

AFAIK up to '95 there was either F92 or F918.

F92; 9 dia @ 200 crs EW G450
F918 9 @ 100 & 8 @ 200 crs, G450

RE: F928 Mesh

It wasn't very common, but F928 was available at one time.  Listed in the 1976 Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook, but not in the 1989 edition.

RE: F928 Mesh

apsix,

I don't actually know that it was ever made, but it does appear in the 1976 C&CAA Handbook, pg. 152.  At one time, the mesh folks made a big thing of saying they could customise fabric to almost any specification.

RE: F928 Mesh

OK, thanks.
