Installing SPs for v2009 on Windows 7 (x64)?
Installing SPs for v2009 on Windows 7 (x64)?
(OP)
I've taken the plunge and installed Windows 7 (64-bit Pro) on a new hard drive. I've installed SW v2009 on the system, but I cannot seem to get any SPs to properly install (with SWIM or manual downloads/installs).
If this has been accomplished by anyone, can you give me details on how to do it? I've seen things discussed about installing in "XP Mode", but don't know how to get that done.
Thanks for any help or pointing to previous discussions for this issue!

I had to do a full/clean uninstall, and still had a couple of errors during installation, during which I hit the "Retry" option (instead of "Cancel" or "Ignore"), and it eventually installed and updated using the SWIM. Nearly 1GB of download and plenty of time for this DSL connection, but the trick/hack worked great.
So now you all know.
Of course I get some odd things when opening SolidWorks now, such as the Microsoft Visual Basic console maximized every time, and amnesia with my agreement to accept the license agreement (asks every time). But as best I can tell, it's remembering my toolbars fairly well, so that's what's important.
