(OP)
Hi all,

I need to find the surface area of some parts I have created in NX, I know it's possible at the touch of a button but I have no idea which button! Does anyone know how to do this?

Regards,

HollyT

RE: surface area

... and make sure that you put a rectangle around the solid because it seems to only pick the faces when selected, and not the entire solid body

RE: surface area

Measure Faces is really intended to be used when only some, but not necessarily ALL, of the faces of a body are to be measured.  If your desire is to ALWAYS include ALL of the faces, I would recommended that you use Measure Bodies instead since you only have to make a single selection, and if you create a Measurement feature, it will automatically update as the model changes, even if new faces are added, something which is not possible with Measure Faces.

RE: surface area

Yes, "Measure Bodies" is the way to go.
I didn't see that it had "surface area" in there.

Analysis > Measure Bodies > expand "results display" and "associative measure and checking" to verify things are toggles the way that you want ... toggle "associative" if you want the expressions
