Vaccum test
Vaccum test
(OP)
Hello,
I have a steel pipe line with material A106Gr.B.
I use the ASME code B31.3
The pipe line conditions are -0.7b at 72°C. The Ø of the line is 28".
Is there somewhere a standard to test this line ?
I know how to fill a table to specify a hydrotest pressure but not for vaccum line !!
Do we wait the start-up of the installation to know if the pipe leaks ??
Cordially
Laurent

RE: Vaccum test
You'll reach a wider audience next time at either forum292: ASME (mechanical) Code Issues or forum378: Pipelines, Piping and Fluid Mechanics engineering (but not both!).
I'd take a look at B31.3 345.2.4. Seems pretty straightforward to me...
