ST Menus will not stay put.

ST Menus will not stay put.

ST Menus will not stay put.

(OP)
Why do my menus keep changing and moving around the screen?
Does anyone else get this proplem?
In assembly I have the Pathfinder at the far left.
The only tabs on it are Assembly Pathfinder and parts Library.
To the right of this I have the Select menu.
Everything has been saved.
Many times now the Parts Library jumps off the pathfinder and appears below the Select menu, and a Layers tab appears on pathfinder.
I am getting really P'd off with this.
Menu docking was never very good, but this is a farce.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

RE: ST Menus will not stay put.

We are on ST2 and have noticed that if you in-place edit within the assembly, it throws the menus around. After that happens, they will no longer go back to where you docked them and you have to manually fix them AGAIN! My users are frustrated with it too.

RE: ST Menus will not stay put.

I'm also having problems with menu moving to unwanted territory and I can't seem to find a solution for this.

I share your pain.

Sorry for not being of much help.

Yes me too.

I prefer the pathfinder on the far right, and the rest on the left. depending on the command and environment they move around at random. I thought it was odd.

Sorry to cross thread, but what happened to the escape key exit from in-place edit. This too drives me crazy

That's what I'm finding - in place edit throws things around.
Well at least I know its not just me.
I'm also finding that when I Save-As (and this applies to the first save of a new file) the SE window gets un-maximised - by that I mean it switches from full-screen to not full screen.

@karmoh -

In-place edit, from what I understand by talking to Gtac years ago, escape is the wrong method for leaving in-place edit and can corrupt files. I then asked why it was even an option, of course no response. Looks like the have it "fixed".

We have called in the moving menus to Gtac today... seems like they don't care about that issue either.

RE: ST Menus will not stay put.

How are you guys moving the menus around?  The only thing I can move is the "edgebar"... all of the other toolbars are stuck in place.  In V20 I had them all on my second monitor, now they are cluttering up all of my space!

RE: ST Menus will not stay put.

I'm not moving the Ribbon Bar with all the tabs, which is what you might be referring to as menus. But you can minimize it so only the tab names show, not all the icons. If you need to look in the tab, you just select it and it pops open. Unfortunely I haven't found a way to move it, just the "edgebar".
