numbering convension for Motor starter controls and contacts

is there a standard for the numbering convention for motor starters? like NO/NC contacts, 11-14,12-13, or coil ,A1-A2?

thanks in advance

RE: numbering convension for Motor starter controls and contacts

That will depend on what standards the gear is built to.  In the US, NEMA has standards on this.  NEMA ICS-18, IIRC.

Probably EN 50013 if you are in Europe, which I think you are looking at the number codes.

I found some explanation in NEMA ICS 2.4 which explains the difference between NEMA and IEC motor control devices.

NEMA has no numbering convension for control terminals

IEC

NC Contact
11
12
first digit designate sequence of control terminal second designals NC contact

23
24
first digit disignates sequence of control terminal second designates NC contact

A1
A2
coil terminal markings

Anybody know the exact standard for IEC that specifies this?
