Hi

Does anyone know the mimimum temperature of Grade A193 / A194 B8M, 8M Bolting compared to
A320 B8M

RE: ASTM 193 / 194 B8M bolting compared with A320 B8M

While there is no guarantee, it should be very similar.  The chemical composition requirements are exactly the same.  If you really need to be certain, have some impact specimens created from 3 of the A 193 fasteners.

Both SA 320 and SA 193 Grade B8M are treated the same in terms of MDMT at -320 deg F (see Section VIII, Div 1, part UHA).

RE: ASTM 193 / 194 B8M bolting compared with A320 B8M

A320 is impact tested whereas A193 is not.  I believe that is the only difference. B31.3 does not require the impact testing but some end users may want it.
