Dear Folks,

Is it possible to do a hand calc to determine the bending moment of a pin which is inside a collar? (See Schematic attached)
The collar is in the form of a bushing that surrounds the pin.
I ultimately want to calculate the pin stress due to bending and shear etc.

I can calculate the bending moment without the collar based on double integration method, deflection of beams etc.
Clearly the bending moment will change due to the presence of the collar which will inhibit central deflection of the pin and possibly reduce this bending moment. (Hertzian Contact Theory?)
Is there some additional calculation I could use to determine the contact force between the pin and collar which could be included in the bending moment equation in order to determine M?

Any ideas will be appreciated.
PS: I want to avoid an FEA approach to this.  It would be good to be able to perform this by hand if it's not too difficult.

Is the collar shrink fit or loose? they get different answers.

It will be ISO E8 e8 fitting.

It doesn't mean anything to me. The thing is; if it is a very tight fit, they will tend to work together as one section, if it is a snug but not tight fit, they work as two separate beams linked at the center so they have the same deflection, if it is loose, I don't know how to do it exactly because the  collar may stretch out of circularity. I would play it safe and just use a point load in the center of the pin and neglect any distribution by the collar.

That is just what I did because I had no other way of approaching it. It is a snug but not tight fit.
