Strength of C-22 Vs SS-410 & SS-403
Strength of C-22 Vs SS-410 & SS-403

One question?? from mechanical strength point of view which alloy shows more promising strength that is If I compare C-22 with SS-410 and SS-403. I have proposed in using C-22 alloy as MOC for Impellors in Recycle Gas blowers. As C-22 is more chlorine (WET/DRY)Corrosion resistant as compare to SS-410 and 403 but from strength point of view does C-22 exhibits Good strength equally to 410 and 403.
kindly reply at earliest

If that is true then C22 will have at least equal if not superior strength. And since you won't need a corrosion allowance you can make it thinner, reducing stresses.

For C-22 (UNS 06022) @ 500 deg F 26.5 Ksi
For 410 (annealed) @ 500 deg F 17.2 Ksi
403 would be similar to 410 in an annealed condition. The above allowable stress values are for time independent properties, where either yield or tensile stress would set the allowable stress value.
