Reuse drawings

Reuse drawings

(OP)
Hello,

I am using NX6 and Teamcenter for designing stamping dies. In this business you have a lot of similar parts. The only differences are the contours of the cutting punches. Useally, I start modeling the complete tool and later I make the drawings.
I have found a way to reuse similar drawings but I don't think this is the way to do it.
In teamcenter I make a save-as of the drawingfile and then you can cut and paste this file in an item with a similar model. Then I go to NX drafting and replace the model.
Is there a better way to reuse drwaings?

RE: Reuse drawings

Drawing Templates might be the phrase that you're looking for. Searching the documentation and these forums might make a good start to supply any missing information you need.

Best Regards

Actually that sounds fairly elegant and so if it's working OK, go for it.

RE: Reuse drawings

The method described is what I do, but I only do it occasionally.
