thread723-119205: Macomber Steel Joist

Does anyone know what the difference is between the "S", "J", and "H" - series V-beam joists, as describe on page 4 of the V-beam Catalogue circa 1968 found on slideruleera's website?

And on the same note, if an existing structural drawing from 1960 specifies "S-22 Macomber V-beam" would the load tables starting on page 6 of the V-beam Catalogue circa 1968 found on slideruleera's website apply?
