V5 Layers and drawing views

V5 Layers and drawing views

(OP)
Question here.  I have a .CATPart with an unfolded flat pattern surface in a geometrical set.  I have assigned the body to one layer and the unfold to a second layer in the .CATPart.  I see that in the .CATDrawing view properties, the layer can be selected.  That is what I want do but it doesn't seem to work.  I want most of the views to show the solid as formed part and one view to show the flat surface pattern.  I think this has something to do with the visualization filters but can't figure it out.  Anyone care to take a stab at it?
Thanks.

RE: V5 Layers and drawing views

If it's a sheetmetal part made with the sheet metal workbench then there is a dedicated function in the drafting module to generate unfolded views. If not then you need to have the surfaces in two different geometrical sets and when creating the drafting view pick the set before you choose orientation plane.
