That means short circuit calculations for subsea installations, one should use IEC60909. Since IEC61363 only covers electrical Installations of Ships and Mobile and Fixed offshore Units.

In IEC 60909, an equivalent voltage source at the fault location will replace ALL VOLTAGE SOURCES. A voltage factor will adjust the value of the equivalent voltage source for the maximum and minimum fault current calculations.
If the subsea electrical installations are more or less like a usual substation or power station interconnected, on mainland, you may follow the IEC 60909 procedure. But if there are distributed generators like DG or other included here, so the "far from the source" is not clear as the "main source" is outside and may be "far away".
IEC 61363-1 calculation methods are for use on unmeshed three-phase alternating current systems, but will take into consideration all source independently.
