Solidworks - Abaqus Design Optimisation

Solidworks - Abaqus Design Optimisation

Solidworks - Abaqus Design Optimisation

(OP)
Hello All,

Does anyone have any experience or have an efficient process set-up between solidworks and abaqus to iterates designs after an analysis (like design optimisation)?

I could do this the manual way, i.e. create the CAD model in solidworks, import to abaqus, pre-process, run an analysis, update CAD model, import back to abaqus, pre-process model, run analysis, etc.  However, I hope there is a more efficient way of doing this these days.

I know there are optimisations tools in Solidworks, but I need to use abaqus for my analysis.

Thanks

RE: Solidworks - Abaqus Design Optimisation

There is an Abaqus SolidWorks associativity translator that would help simplify the task.  We are utilizing Optimus to do a very similar task with SolidWorks and Ansys.  Soon we will get it up and running with Abaqus also.  I hope this helps.
