Basic Dim vs. Inspection Dim

Basic Dim vs. Inspection Dim

Basic Dim vs. Inspection Dim

(OP)

Our manufacturers would like us to designate certain dims as Inspection Dims and others as Basic Dims. Fine, we should have done that before. But they want certain dims to be both Inspection Dims and Basic Dims. i have been told that this is easy in Unigraphics. How do i pull this off in Pro/E?

Thanks!

RE: Basic Dim vs. Inspection Dim

In Pro/E you can not declare a dimensions as Basic as well as Inspection Dimension. Because basic dimesions are given for functional gauging of component, thereby no measurement is required while in case of inspection dimensions you have to measure those dimenisons using any measuring instrumnet. You can assign either of them. If it is required to mentioned both on drawing, create dummy dimension and assigned as required.

Thanks
Yogesh
