Mirrored Part Issue

Mirrored Part Issue

Mirrored Part Issue

(OP)
Hello all,
I have a LH part that I then made a mirrored part by selecting a plane then insert mirrored part and saved as its own part number.
The problem comes about with the drawing for the mirrored part.  A hole wizard callout for a drilled and tapped hole does not see the tap feature and the callout only lists the drilled hole and a counterbore.  The hole callout is correct on the drawing for the original part.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
BB

RE: Mirrored Part Issue

When you generate the mirrored part, you have options to select additional info that gets mirrored.  This includes planes and cosmetic threads.  You can get back to this info by editing the mirrored part feature in the new part.  Hopefully this will get you where you need to go.

Hi Shaggy,
I have all the options checked but to no avail.  I forgot to mention the following:
SW2010 SP2.1

RE: Mirrored Part Issue

Two things to mention.

1.  When I do a mirrored part (not to say I do it correctly) I completely dimension the primary part and simply note that the other one is a mirror of the first.  We do this using dash number suffixes on a single drawing. i.e. -001 SHOWN, -002 MIRROR

2.  You could go into the mirrored part and add the tapped holes into the part.  This sort of defeats the purpose of the mirror because the tap feature will no longer be driven by the parent part, but if you only change the location, everything will still be correct.
