How to make a porduct demo?

How to make a porduct demo?

How to make a porduct demo?

(OP)
I am trying to make some illustration for my model. However I just don't get how to make a nice 360-degree camera show which is a very common motion if we talk about a 3D model demo.

Could anyone tell me how to do that kind of camera motion? An automatic camera endless(or long enough) turning around, 360 degree.
It will be really appreciated.

RE: How to make a porduct demo?

what version of NX are you on?

I currently use NX6. And I have installed NX4 as well.

Thank you, JohnRBaker. Both of the movies you provided are cool. Could you make some direction for me to describe how to do the simpler one?

More specific, the better. Because I am a very beginner, expecially at animation. Thanks a lot.

RE: How to make a porduct demo?

Create your animation with "Key Frames" rather than "Trajectory Curves". Add a key frame with however many steps you need. Then you go into key frame options and you can add a turntable vector. You must remember to hit update frame before you leave the dialog.

From that alone you can create a basic 360 degree spin. If you want to add other motion driven by expressions then go into edit parameters of the animation and tick on update expressions. Save that an then go into your expressions editor an add a constant type expression called FrameNumber. The name has to be exact. Now that expression can be used to increment other values in the expression list changing dimensions or mating constraints. This will enable a second kind of motion.

I'll create an example file and find some way to make it downloadable when I can.

I'm intrigued ...

Has this been done in the "Advanced Simulation" or "Motion Simulation" applications?

If we don't have a license for these - can this be done within "Assemblies"?

RE: How to make a porduct demo?

Yes it can be done using assemblies or indeed just straightforward modelling parameters.

Finally, I made it. Thank you for all your expressions above.

But there is still one thing confusing me. The lens is not fixed, isn't it? I mean, after my adjusting the frame/path of the camera and confirming, I am still allowed to make any zoom in or zoom out for camera/screen in preview stage, isn't it?

So, is there any other specific setting for the camera or lens in movie making?
