i had a quick look in customer defaults and preferences, to find if i could set up a list of default scales when adding a base view, but couldn't see anything, is there a way i can set these up?, or a text file i can edit?

RE: view scale options

You do know that you can manually type in anything you like if you wish don't you?

RE: view scale options

Not sure if this is what you need but have a go ...

File > Utilities > Customer Defaults
Pick "Drafting" category
Pick "Standard" tab
Pick your drafting standard from the drop down
Hit "Customize Standard"
Then enter your Numerator and Denominator

For info I found this by opening up the Customer Defaults and hitting the binoculars search button and typing in "scale". You might find this useful for other searches...

RE: view scale options

JonSelby's method is the best one that I'm familiar with for setting the default.
