Wildfire 3 feature recognition

Wildfire 3 feature recognition

Wildfire 3 feature recognition

(OP)
As I understand it, "feature recognition" is used to make imported models somewhat "parametric."  I've used is a little bit on simple parts in SW 2007.

A search of this forum only found early/mid 2000 hits, claiming Pro/E did not offer any feature recognition.

On line I found some 3rd party software for Wildfire 4.

We use Wildfire 3.

Are we stuck importing non-parametric models from SW ?

thanks,

Dan T

RE: Wildfire 3 feature recognition

I understand that either WF5 has some sort of feature recognition or that WF6 will. If you found software available for WF4, contact the software company to see if they have or could have one for WF3. Or you can got to WF4. (I would not go to WF5 unless the software company says they support it).

When I used SW a while back, I did use feature recognition a bit. It works well for simple parts, not so much on more complex ones. Of course the simple ones are simple to just model to.
