Removing red and black parts from desk??

Removing red and black parts from desk??

Removing red and black parts from desk??

(OP)
I occasionally run in to a situation where I have links I want to break but can't.  See attached example.

The items in "black" and "red" I want to remove from the catdrawing shown in the example.  How can the links be broken so they don't show up under the desk command?

RE: Removing red and black parts from desk??

If you really want to break the links, delete the parts from the assembly.

(Isolating an Instance Link doesn't make sense)
