HYDRANTS CALCULATIONS

HYDRANTS CALCULATIONS

HYDRANTS CALCULATIONS

Tidings good people,

Would anybody be kind enough to tell me the design flow rate and discharge pressures of Fire hydrants and monitors respectively in a process area.

I would also apprecaite a referal to a book or standard.

RE: HYDRANTS CALCULATIONS

I think if you contact American Flow Control they did have a design guide for hydrants and if not they can surely recommend one.

I would also check the AWWA and NFPA websites for things like the specifics on coverage.

RE: HYDRANTS CALCULATIONS

Call the local Fire marshal and ask what they expect from each size hydrant first. then call your hydrant supplier and tell him what you need. You will need the pressure in the water main. then have te supplier show you how he got his number.

RE: HYDRANTS CALCULATIONS

If you go to the American Flow Control site and check the manual for any piece of equipment there is a pressure drop curve base on line flow.  You should note that the pressure drop through the hydrant could be considered negligible.
