Line style settings for 2D Exchange

Line style settings for 2D Exchange

Line style settings for 2D Exchange

(OP)
When I export an NX6 drawing to DWG using 2D Exchange the hidden lines don't show up as hidden when opened in Autocad.
Their set as gray & hidden in the UG drawing. The gray comes through & the line style name is "Dashed" in Autocad but appears solid.
Is there away to change my export settings for this?

Thanks,
James

RE: Line style settings for 2D Exchange

just a guess:
It may help to turn the line width on in the drawing
Preferences > Visualization > Line > Show widths (toggle on)

RE: Line style settings for 2D Exchange

I tried toggling the line widths on but it didn't seem to have any affect on the exported DWG files. Thanks for your input jerry1423.
Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get hidden lines to exported better?
Is it possible to change this setting in my "ugto2d.def" file?

Thanks,
James

RE: Line style settings for 2D Exchange

the 2d exchange is combined process , flattern the nx drawing to real plane geometry and put it into a dxf dwg process.
To control and optimize choose the 2d output to Nx partfile.
Open this flatt nx file and optimize the dxfdwg process to your nned maybe with a mapping file -> look into the data echachange docs of the NX Documentation

I am still very stumped with this problem.
Thanks guys for your advice. I've tried your suggestions but it didn't seem to have any affect.

Is anybody out there able to create a DWG file using 2D exchange (output to Modeling) which has the correct hidden line style visible when opened in Acad?

Your responses would really be appreciated!

James
