Beam Restrain set

Beam Restrain set

Beam Restrain set

(OP)
Hi,
I'm working to have a beam structure then make analysis;
my issue is that i can't set restrain on my beam. When I put forces or clamp on beam surface there was and error "No meshed face in match with restrain or force" (the sense of error message),

I really don't know what's tha problem is...

someone use structural analysis with Beam  (1D) ?

thanks

No one has ever had this kind of problem ?

no one use beam ?

I didn't find any solution...

RE: Beam Restrain set

I used them only once and if I recall, the problem I had was that a beam is defined between two points. But when you want to constraint the beam, you need to select de nodes of the beam and not the points previously defined. (hide the points and see if you can select the extremity of the beam instead.)

RE: Beam Restrain set

I believe that flambter is right, if you use 1D elements, meaning lines then you can't use a surface to clamp, clamp the end point.

Hidding the points I had same results, no way to have a solution to model beam...

I'm really curious which is the way the other works on structure analysis....mistery...

RE: Beam Restrain set

Could you send an image of what you have done so far? Maybe I can try to recreate it here and see if I can get it to work.
