Easy Definition of Node paths for XY plots

Easy Definition of Node paths for XY plots

Easy Definition of Node paths for XY plots

(OP)
Does anyone know how to:

a) Define node paths for use in subsequent X-Y plots in a way which is more convenient than picking every node on the path (I have a lot of nodes on each of 4 paths)

b) Save the paths once defined so that when I come back into CAE next day the paths are still there.

I have figured out how to save the resulting X-Y plots in the .odb file but this doesn't help me today when I want to repeat the plots on the same paths but with a different output variable.

The four paths take me around an hour to produce each time

Regards,

Gwolf.

RE: Easy Definition of Node paths for XY plots

There are various ways of picking nodes on a path, and picking individual nodes is probably the worst way. Use edge list and select the edges as by shortest diatance, if it's on a straight line. For future path definitions, then store your commands in a macro so you can run it again the next time you open the odb up.

Thanks Corus, that's a lot easier now, I missed the little options box at the bottom of the screen to select shortest path - phew.
