Replace part associated to drawing

Replace part associated to drawing

Replace part associated to drawing

(OP)
I renamed and modified a part. I neglected to bring the associated drawing into my bin to rename it also. How would I replace the part associated with the drawing with my new part? Someone in my office showed me how to do this, but he is not here anymore and I forgot how to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Replace part associated to drawing

Did you "Make Unique" the part?

fmr110,
Yes, it is unique part. That would make a difference, yes.
Thank you

RE: Replace part associated to drawing

Make your old part and drawing local copies

Delete the history of the old part

get out your new part and old part

add the new part to the old part

then go into history tree and delete the orphan at the end of the hsitory tree.  Then update  All of your dimension in your 2D drawing will not be associate with any faces edges or ECT.  Thanks
