CL1500 44" and 64" recommened joint

CL1500 44" and 64" recommened joint

(OP)
We are working on the design of ASME VIII vessels with CL1500 ratings and have 44" and 64" flange joints.

ASME B16.47 does not recommend ring joints above NPD38

Can any one recommend the normal / best practice in how to seal the joints?

RE: CL1500 44" and 64" recommened joint

Body flange?

Or at an end like on a heat exchanger or maybe an oversized manway? Lots more options for this type.

To get a response that will more closely match you conditions you need to provide a little more information such as temperature, steady or cyclic, and process media.  Are these flanges undergo a lot of make and break operations.
There are many possibilities out there.

We used 48" RTJ flanges on pressure vessels.
