Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can refer me to the correct ways of dP cell transmitter(daiaphragm seal) CALIBRATION. vented tank . (filled gycerine)  can anyone come up with a better method for this calibration?).
and i'm new in this field....

Hope you guys can help me on this. Thank you in advance.

RE: Hope you guys can help me on this

My experience includes isolation valves with a drip ring for a calibration connection.

RE: Hope you guys can help me on this

Where's the glycerine?  The stuff in the tank or the capillary fill for diaphragm seal(s)?

Are you attempting to establish/configure a range for transmitter by doing a wet calibration?

Is the transmitter HART compatible?   Do you have a HART handheld?

Is the diaphragm seal close coupled to the transmitter or on capillary?

the glycerine is The stuff in the tank

yes m wanna do wet calibration.
yes d transmitter was hart compitible and we have 1..
d transmitter was endress hauser pmd 78 wit diaphragm seal..

and its cappilary type...

tq 4 ur reply  bro

This is what you have?

You empty the tank, do "set LRV"
You fill the tank to your known upper level, and do "set URV".

You need to know what that physical height distance is between lower LRV and the URV because that's what the 4-20mA output will span.   Whatever you send the 4-20 to needs to know what the 20mA represents (assuming your 4ma is zero)

I can't say it any better than E&H does:

one more thing m want to know ...before tis d measuring mode they set to "level" and unit set to mmh20...can u explain to me bout mmh20..bro
is it correct measuring mode set to "level" and "mmh20"..?

Hope you can help me on this. Thank you in advance.

RE: Hope you guys can help me on this

Do you want to measure the level height/distance in millimeters ?

Are you familiar with this unit of measure?

If not, pick another unit of measure (in the US we use inches) . . .

Whether it is millimeters or inches, it is still height/length/distance.

The measurement made is at the density of water, so you'll have to correct the length/distance value by the specific gravity of glycerine.

indicated height / SG = actual height

indicated height is what comes out of the transmitter
