Flooded cell Nicad batteries

Flooded cell Nicad batteries

(OP)
I have several flooded cell nicad batteries and would like to utilize them in a standby system.  How would I go about building a charger for these, an automatic charger preferred.

I have no idea what the current rating is of each battery as I have many of different sizes.  Even some at the same size, but with different heights of the internal plates.

I've looked high and low on line for suppliers of these batteries but have had no luck.  Any Suggestions?

I am pretty sure that these were used many years ago in military applications, but believe it or not, they are still good.
