In calculating the thickness of a tube sheet i see that it does not depend on the number of tubes, tube od, or tube pitch. Is it common not to include these factors in determing thickness of tube sheets?

RE: tube sheet design

TEMA in section RCB-7.132, which calculates the tubesheet thickness, has an equation variable "n" which depends on the tube OD and tube pitch.

RE: tube sheet design

What code are you using for your calculations.  The ones I use (ASME Sec. VIII, Div. 1 or TEMA) are dependent on all those factors.  Can you provide a little more detail?

RE: tube sheet design

Additionally ASME Sec.I power boilers will show you how to calculate tube sheet thicknesses for fire and water tube boilers.
