force envelope?

force envelope?

force envelope?

(OP)
I've worked with SAP for awhile and it seems like there should be away to look at a force envelope...covering some number of cases rather than having to look at each case seperatly and then determine the worst ...has anyone come across a way of doing this?

RE: force envelope?

Create a load combination and select the combination type as "envelope" in the top right of the combination dialog box.  Then add as many cases as you want with 1.0 combo factors and it will calculate the envelope force for all those load combos.  The only complaint I have is that they do not output which load case or load combo the envelope forces originate, they just give the max and min P, V, M, etc.
