Torx screw star geometry

Torx screw star geometry

(OP)
I have been searching the internet for the geometry of a Torx screw. I need the exact shape of the hexagon shape. First of all I need the T30 shape. I found some links on this site, but they don't work anymore...

Can anyone help me on this one? Maybe someone has a dxf file?

Thanks!

Thanks. This brings me one step further, but I could not find any drawings of the 'star' shape definition.

RE: Torx screw star geometry

The star is based on an outer circle A (across points) and an inner circle B (across valleys), and two radii for the points (internal and external).  ISO 10644 gives the following definitions:

B ≈ 0,72 A
re ≈ 0,1 A
ri ≈ 0,175 A

A = 5.6 mm and B = 4.05 mm for T30.  You need to purchase ISO 10644 if you want tolerances, gage dimensions, etc.

RE: Torx screw star geometry

The ISO dimensions are an approximation issued for gaging purposes, since the actual Torx shape is trademarked.  The manufacturing dimensions are only available to Torx licensees.  Try this link to contact that proper person:
