RE: Opening an NX6 file in NX4

You can save the model as an NX4 compatible parasolid then import that into NX4, but you lose all the parameters.

RE: Opening an NX6 file in NX4

I really don't know of any CAD program where you can open a part file in a version older than what it was created in.

RE: Opening an NX6 file in NX4

Pro/E can open them 2 releases back from WF4 on, but they file is not parametric in the older version of software and you need a special plug-in from PTC to do it.
The plug-in is customized for each version of Wildfire.

It really is like doing a Parasolid export back to an older version. In PTC's case, you add the plug-in to your older version to enable you to read the newer version. It is also working at the solid modeler kernel level, like the PS export.
