Solidworks inflatable structure test

Hello. I try to find a software, where I can do the test for inflatable structure. Does anybody know, if I can do it with Cosmos works or may be something else. Thanks for any information.

RE: Solidworks inflatable structure test

It will lot depend on the kind of study you looking to do and based on that you can choose or someone can suggest you the software.

You want to perform structural tests on a part made of air?
Cool!

More details are needed.  Are you trying to pump up a ball or inflate a folded airbag.  These are very different problems.  I hope this helps.

I have an inflatable framework from tubes. What I want is  to test the durability with pression from different sides. Thank you.

RE: Solidworks inflatable structure test

I suspect that non-uniformities in material and fabrication will play a larger role in determing the durability than the results from a study. I suppose it could be used to try to determine relatively weak areas. I certainly wouldn't believe any quantitative results ("This can hold 150 psi, but not 160 psi."). I think actual testing is the way to go here.

However, the only advice I can offer if you want to proceed with the "software test" is that I suspect you will need to begin with finding the properties of the material you are constructing this out of. Also, be sure to check if you have non-linear behaivor, requiring a dynamic test.

RE: Solidworks inflatable structure test

A picture would help a lot.  I am envisioning a bounce house with some wind.  In your other post you mentioned MSC.  If you want to know if Cosmos can do it than posting here or in the Cosmos forum is appropriate but if you want to find opinions on the best software for your application then I would post in the FEA specific forum.  Which would be a further violation of cross posting however I think it will get you better results.
