NX7 pdf export problem

NX7 pdf export problem

NX7 pdf export problem

(OP)
My OS is Win7x64.

I changed to Nx7 and one thing doesn't work. This is Pdf export. In NX6 this function was good.
If I apply the export, it says export completed, but I can't find the pdf file :)

If somebody had or has the same problem please help me.

Thanks

RE: NX7 pdf export problem

It works for me, but then I'm running NX 7.0.1.7, which you should be able to download as we speak (type).

BTW, when you enter a file name, do you use the 'Browse...' option to define both the destination and the name of the .pdf file?

RE: NX7 pdf export problem

If you forgot to specify an output file location, try looking in your <UG install directory>\UGII folder.

Or if you don't mind beachcombing, perform a windows file search for *.pdf (I'm guessing that will return hundreds of results!).

Thanks for the tips

I will try 1.0.1.7.

I specify the output file location as I did when I used NX6.
But the pdf didn't create in the specified folder.

I installed Nx6 next to Nx7 and in Nx6 pdf export works perfectly.

So first I will try 1.0.1.7 and I will see what happens.

Thanks again.

RE: NX7 pdf export problem

Now that I'm in my office I went back and tested NX 7.0.0.9 and I did NOT have any problems whatsoever creating a .pdf file where I expected it to be.

Note that I could find only one environment variable that is critical for PDF to work and that is...

UGII_CGM2PDF=

...and by default, it should be set to...

<NX Folder>\nxplot\bin\pdf

Now this is set in the 'ugii_env_ug.dat' file and so if this file exists at...

<NX Folder>\UGII\

...and it has not been tinkered with, I don't know to say.

BTW, you can check that this variable has been set correctly by going to, while NX is running,...

Help -> NX Log File

...and then doing a search for the text string "pdf".

I deleted all of the environmental variables of NX7 and I reninstalled the program and pdf export works fine now.

I don't know what was actually the real problem, but I am very happy that the reinstall solved it.

JohnRBaker, I have NX 7.0.0.9 as You have in your office.

For safety sake I updated to the newer ver. and everything works fine (pdf export too :))))

So this was my first time to write in this forum. I have to say this forum is brilliant. I never asked for help here before (just read the topics) and you (cowski, John R. Baker) were very helpful.

So thanks again and have a nice day.
